I Just Had To Post This Too!

This is one of the most inspiring videos I've seen in a while and it's not an ad for Nike, Ironman or some company, which makes it even better in my book. Check it out.

For anyone who doesn't already know, I DNF'd my first Ironman race in 2006. Thanks to SpokaneAl and Michelle Sidles for posting it.

I love that! Here's the thing that worries me, though. THESE days, everyone doesn't want to keep score so kids don't get their feelings hurt or have them fail??? YOU HAVE TO FAIL, you're NOT good at everything all the time. HOW THE HELL would you ever get better at something?

Love the clip...!!!

love, love, love that! There is hope for me yet.

I try so hard to instill in my son the virtues of not giving up, I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

I agree that life is a risk. But what they didn't say was if you don't believe in yourself, you will never accept any risk and, therefore, never archive anything. That's why toeing the line is only for those willing to to succeed by believing in themselves.

Thanks for the video! It is definitely something I will watch again and again. Taking risks is essential for growth but it's so easy to get caught up in the safe!

I absolutely love this! I tell my kids this all the time too. Don't fear failure - fear never trying anything new, or risky, or difficult. Fear never living!

Encouraging words. I've felt such a failure recently as I had so much work come my way that I just cannot seem to get it done, and my swimming has been slower than usual.

Thanks for the VIDEO!!! Amazing... As Maria said, it gave me goosebumps...

Thanks for sharing... I will feel better whenever I fail. And you DNF'd in 2006, and look where you are at....

Loved the video. I have a saying posed in my office - "Risk taking is inherently failure prone, otherwise it would be called 'sure thing taking'."

Put a helmet on that kid! (Or does he like to be more of a TBI risk?)
